It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Jean Sargent of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on September 4, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse R. Thomas Sargent; her parents, Albert Lawrence and Ruth Hibbs (Badgely); and her sister Nancy Beasom (Hibbs). She is survived by: her children, Judith L. Whitmire (D. Kenneth Whitmire) of Lederach, PA and Gregory T. Sargent (Mary Kaye Sargent); her granddaughters, Bryn Horowitz (Jason Horowitz), Paige Valentik (John Valentik), Jillian Whitmire (Chris Tobin), Sara King (Kyle King), Olivia Sargent (Christian Kardish) and Julia Sargent; her great grandchildren, Charlotte, Parker Valentik and Tate King; and her siblings-in-law, Helen Sargent and Ronald Beasom. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
