With solemn reverence, we commemorate Matthew Johnston (Harleysville, Pennsylvania), born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose life came to an end on September 14, 2024 at the age of 86, leaving behind cherished memories. He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Edward and Mary Ann Johnston (Torrens); and his siblings, Emily McConnell (Robert) and William Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Elizabeth Johnston (Cooke); his children, Karen Johnston Fleisch (Jerry) of Naples, FL, Matthew D. Johnston (Bonnie) of Chalfont, PA and Stephen Johnston (Lindsay) of Fairfield, CT; his grandchildren, Taylor Copper (Brandon), Lauren Fleisch, Matthew E., Patrick, Nicholas Johnston, Zachary, Christian, Ashley Johnston, Heather Aicher (Gregg) and Danielle Fleisch; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Austin Aicher, Jayden, Jaxson and Aspen Fleisch; and his brother Edward Johnston (Ginny). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Covenant Presbyterian Church (310 Covenant Ln, Harleysville, PA 19438). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Matthew's name may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church's Building Fund for Fellowship Hall at the address above.
