It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas W. Smith of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 4, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his spouse Erta R. Smith (Matthes); and his parents, Wilmer Smith and Dorothy Smith (Koons). He is survived by: his daughter Kirsten Trimble of Landale; his grandson Christopher Trimble of Kitty Hawk, NC; and his sister Carole Ann Trout (Stanley) of Macungie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Montgomery County SPCA, 1059 Sweisford Rd, Perkiomenville, PA 18074, where Doug and Erta's beloved dog BJ was rescued.
