He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Stephen, Jr. and Mildred Jean Burks (Harlow); his son Daniel Frederick Burks; his father-in-law Joseph William Cherico; and his brother-in-law Bruce Samuel Cherico.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Eileen Burks (Cherico); his grandson David; his children, Christie Marie Riccobono (Frank), David Joseph Burks (Angela), Melissa Marie Banes (Thomas) and Jonathan Michael Burks; his grandchildren, Victoria Elizabeth Burks, Frank Ryan, Gavin Anthony, Nicholas John Riccobono, Daniel Joseph, Everett David, Hadley Jane Burks, Joseph Thomas, Gianna Marie, Melania Marie and Anthony Michael Banes; his brother Daniel Stephen Burks (Janet); and his mother-in-law Ann N. Cherico. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
