He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Burness and Emma Burness (Wieber); his wife Mary Rosalie "Rose" (Knauer); his children, Clare McQuay, Michael, Julie Aleshire and Joseph; his grandchildren, Mikayla, Jenna McQuay, Elizabeth and Matthew Aleshire; and his sister Katherine Blank.
