He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond W. Sr. James and Rose James (Butz); his sister Jeannine Ashcom (John); his niece Carol Ashcom; and his brother-in-law Gary "Spud" Ashcom.
He is survived by: his wife Stacie L. James; his children, Christopher M. James (Kari) of Gilbert and Lori M. Blackwell (Ray) of Greensboro, NC; his granddaughters, Ella Miller and Victoria Blackwell; and his siblings, Raymond W. James, Jr. (Claudia), Stanley James (Cynthia), Denise Knieriem (Robert) and Sonya Ashcom. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
