In loving memory of Janet L. Smtih of Hanover, Pennsylvania, who departed this world on January 21, 2025 at the age of 91. Janet leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard J. Smith; her parents, Clinton A. Carbaugh and Evelyn B. Leppo (Carbaugh); her grandparents, William U. and Salome B. Carbaugh (Rutter); and her sons, Michael J. Smith and Joseph A. Smith.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Lori J. Smith of East Berlin, PA; and her children, Geneva M. Jacoby (Pius) of New Oxford, PA, Mary A. Ruth of Hanover, PA, James E. Smith (Jessica) of Dover, PA, Paul W. Smith (Melissa) of New Oxford, PA and John P. Smith of Hanover, PA.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murphy-Beck Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. (501 Ridge Ave, McSherrystown, PA 17344). A rosary will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. (501 Ridge Ave, McSherrystown, PA 17344). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (30 Basilica Dr, Hanover, PA 17331).
