He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen E. Surrency and Estelle Irene Lee Surrency; his wife Dorothy A. Hippensteel Surrency; his siblings, Harold, Grover, Hoover Surrency and Eunice Eason; and his son-in-law James Tison.
He is survived by: his daughter Sherri L. Tison; his sisters, Eloise Dykes and Donna Surrency; and his pet Smokey Joe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
