He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond E., Sr. and Jennie R. Markle (Shue); his wife Hilda C. Markle (Brumgard); his siblings, Raymond E. Markle, Jr. and Janet Cool; and his nephew Jason Markle.
He is survived by: his friend Louise Rohrbaugh; his children, Harlan E. Markle (Gloria) of Hanover, PA, Jane L. Schnitzer (John) of Hanover, PA and Susan A. Krentler (Jeffrey) of Hanover, PA; his grandchildren, Joel D. Krentler (Katie), Jennifer Wheeler (Bryan), Michael Clouser (Kelly) and Kimberly Wilson (Ben); his brother Robert E. Markle (Kathy) of Glenville, PA; and his sister-in-law Shirley Brumgard of Jacobus, PA. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
