He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas O'Brien and Ellen O'Brien (Bowker). He is survived by: his spouse Shirley O'Brien (Gillespie); his children, Laura Becker (Kirk) of Manchester, MD, Deborah Simpson (Blaine) of Summit Point, WV, Daniel "Bo" O'Brien Jr. (Davida) of New Oxford, PA and Sandra Hornbaker (Christopher) of Hanover, PA; his grandchildren, Christina Becker, Heather Hoffman, Sarah Easley of Donald, Becker, Jr., Wesley Turner, Owen Turner, Shaina Ballard, Morgan Simpson and Brianna O'Brien; his great grandchildren, Ryleigh Hoffman, Kayden Easley, John Hoffman, Rowen Becker and Reagan Hoffman; his siblings, Ellen Hughes and John O'Brien; and his grandsons, Jacob, Justin and Jeremy Lankford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
