He was predeceased by: his wife Gwendolyn M. Strausbaugh (Sanders); his parents, Claude Strausbaugh and Grace Strausbaugh (Markle); and his sister Patricia Oaster. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Noel (Steven) of Jamison, PA, Diane Rohrbaugh (John Little) of Hanover, Donna Groft (Richard) of McSherrystown, Richard Strausbaugh (Patti) of Mt. Joy, Carolyn Gilson (Richard) of Jonestown, PA, Gail Feltch (Dwayne) of Hanover, Joy Groft (Chris Topper) of Abbottstown and Neil Strausbaugh (Jasmine Hornberger) of Elimsport, PA; and his siblings, Thomas Strausbaugh (Bea), Phillip Strausbaugh, Sylvia Wright and Marie Lawrence. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
