He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Reeder Thatcher and Margaret E. Thatcher (Powers); and his siblings, Reeder "Doc" Thatcher, Sr. and Helen Mae Young (James). He is survived by: his wife Kathy (Janos); his children, Kim M. Lacy (Darryl) of Palmer Township, Jay R. Thatcher III (Patrice) of Haddon Township, NJ, Todd W. Thatcher (Kathy) of Harleysville and Melissa A. Wilkin (Mark) of Quakertown; his grandchildren, Leah, Trey, Elijah, Solomon, Rachel, Isaiah, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Allison, Tyler, Samuel and Sadie; his brother Jeffrey Thatcher (Susan) of Germantown, MD; and his sister-in-law Jane Thatcher of Palmer Township.
