He was predeceased by: his father Raphael Caiby; and his brother Preston Caiby. He is survived by: his mother Eleanore Blount (Libert); his wife Maria DeFaria Caiby; his stepchildren, Kevin De Souza and Karen De Souza; and his siblings, Darwin, Anthony, Shawn Caiby, Daniel McCormick, Angela Caiby-Ward, Sandra Caiby and Tamika McCormick. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

“My morning drive to work will never be the same. I only knew Curtis briefly, but his impact will be greatly missed. No matter how busy and stressed my day was going to be, seeing and chatting with Curtis always brightened up the day. Curtis was the the most beautiful example of what being a true Christian is all about. Heaven is so lucky to get him. Our Firewood St. corner will never be the same without his smiling face and giant waves. The world will a little less brighter without him.”
