He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon VanAuken and Emma VanAuken (Washer); his significant other Elizabeth (Betty); his daughter Sharon Ann; and his siblings, Jack VanAuken, Dick VanAuken and Shirley Savacool.
He is survived by: his sister Betty Westra; his sisters-in-law, Jeanie VanAuken and Mary VanAuken; his children, Cynthia (Joe Casanova) and Charles VanAuken; and his son-in-law David Steen. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Charlie's name to Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder 2191 Rimrock Road Snydersville, PA 18360.
