He was predeceased by: his wife Doris G. Howerter (Weida); and his parents, W. Galen Howerter and Lovie M. Howerter (Kunkel). He is survived by: his children, Sally A. (John C. Kunkel), Beth L. Hassel (Howerter), Martha Sue (John Landis), Georgia, David W. Howerter (Jacqueline), Seddons Corner and Manitoba. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
