He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood Burkert and Katie Burkert (Gehret); and his siblings, Edna Davis (Burkert), Elsie Burkert, Melvin Burkert and Arthur Burkert.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. Burkert; his son Philip (Michelle Burkert); his grandchildren, Megan and Matthew; and his brother Richard G. Burkert.
