He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce L. Schappell (Yeager); his parents, Calvin Schappell and Irene Schappell (Weik); and his siblings, Hayden Schappell (late Mildred), Barbara, Sterling Schappell (Ruth), Roland "Rocky" Schappell (late Phyllis), Larry Schappell (Hazel) and June (Milton Hill).
He is survived by: his children, Gery M. (Abby Sue) and Sharon L. (Terry L. Weidner); his grandchildren, Amy (Brandon Boyer), Lisa (Jason Schaeffer) and Jonathan Schappell (Corinne); and his great grandchildren, Emma Joyce, Harper Mae Schaeffer, Colin M. and Carter M. Schappell.
