Lois Reppert Obituary

Lois E. Reppert (Hoke), 77, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones. She was the wife of the late Larry L. Reppert. They shared 56 wonderful years together before his passing on April 21, 2019.

Born in Donaldson, PA, she was the daughter of the late Marlin and Lorraine (Freeman) Hoke. Lois & Larry were hardworking, responsible teenage parents who left high school to work as a sewing machine operator and broom winder, respectively. They clandestinely attended evening classes and earned their GED when she was 38 to inspire the family to value education at any age.

Lois was a devoted Wife, Mom, Nana, Friend, Neighbor, and all-around genuine soul. A devout member of the Bridge Church in Hamburg, she built a spirit of comradery and treasured many memorable moments as part of the Gatekeepers and Young at Heart clubs. Her life centered around family, friends, neighbors, and even homeless cats and kittens. Lois not only fed dozens of feral cats and kittens, but worked tirelessly to trap, neuter/spay, then tame 90% of them and find good homes. She even tamed a chipmunk!

Lois lived for her family. She loved to babysit and to watch her grandkids and great-grandkids, play sports, and other activities. If the weather was too cold for her to watch a softball game, she simply pulled up as close as she could to the field and watched from her van.

Lois loved to play cards, board games, and mini golf with family and friends. This was the only time she grew fiercely competitive and laughed lovingly, but relentlessly at the mishaps of others, especially on the mini golf course. The family motto became "Beat Nana" because she would win most of the time! She loved her life as a snowbird in Florida where she cherished reading novels while sitting in the sun. Lois's biggest passion as a snowbird was gaining another "family" whom she loved tremendously. Lois will be remembered for her dedication and love for everyone she knew – and let us not forget her love of food, especially ice cream! Her delicious homemade baked goods were her way of showing she cared!

Left to treasure Lois' memory are her children: Lisa Reppert, partner Mary Cook; daughter-in-law, Annie Reppert (deceased); son Richard Reppert; daughter-in-law Shel Reppert; grandchildren: Kristy, wife of Ryan Martin; Jude Reppert, fiancé of Erica Kelly; Nikki, wife of Melvin Mendez; and Brittney, wife of Keali'i Chun; and great-grandchildren: Ella, Kenzie, Isaiah, Malia, Gianna, and Meilani. She was predeceased by her brother, Ralph Hoke.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at 3561 Old Rte 22 Hamburg, PA 19526. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bridge Church at the address above.
