He was predeceased by: his wife Mary B. Hafer (Barron); his parents, Nathan H. Hafer and Carrie Hafer (Sterner); his son Daniel F. Hafer; and his siblings, Robert K., Donald N. Hafer and Irene N. Moyer (Hafer).
He is survived by: his children, Alan J. Hafer (late Karen), Barbara H. Schuler (Ross L.) and Cathy A. Ayers (Kent L.); his grandchildren, Rory Schuler, Brent Ayers and Sarah Ayers; his great grandchildren, Sean Ayers, Trent Ayers and Max Schuler; and his siblings, Charles J. Hafer, George F. Hafer, Mary Lou Franfelter (Hafer), Georgine F. (Joseph Roman) and Joanne L. Donetti (Hafer).
