He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gilfert and Marian Gilfert (Eisenhart); his daughter Mary Gilfert-Gross; and his brother William Gilfert. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Jane Gilfert (Kichline); and his son Philip Gilfert of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
