She was predeceased by: her parents, Elwood Smith and Lorraine Smith (Daubert); her sister Dorothy Melson; her brother-in-law Jack Melson; her brother Kenneth Smith; and her granddaughter Samantha Schaeffer.
She is survived by: her husband Robert L. Hayes; her children, David Hayes of Port Clinton, PA, Diane Lesher (Todd) of Port Clinton, PA, Denice Schaeffer (Sam) of Hamburg, PA and Dorene Moyer (Matt Estermyer) of Orwigsburg, PA; her grandchildren, Josh Hayes (Beth Roland), NeTasha Bastian (Garth), Robert Schaeffer (Courtney), Steven Lesher, Jason Hayes, Brandi Moyer, Brittney Moyer, Micheal Lesher, Zachary Lesher, Jordyn Schaeffer, Brayden Estermyer and Bailey Estermyer; her great grandchildren, Colin, Shea Bastian, Giselle Zdunowski, Shilo Hayes and Knox Schaeffer; her siblings, Robert Smith, Charles Smith and Elaine Rust; and her sister-in-law Jean Smith.
