He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his children, Charity Trumbore (Andrew), Ivy Rubin (Seth) and John Whittenberg Jr.; his stepchildren, Bob Tompkins (Deb), David D. Tompkins (Sharlene), Amy Tompkins and Josh Peters (Abby Rounds); his siblings, Karen McLaughlin, Kathleen Blow and Michael Whittenberg (Jana); and his siblings-in-law, Royce Howell and Becky Bovier. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
