He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Slater and May Slater; and his siblings, Clarence, Alvin, Oscar, Alberta and Edna.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Brenda, Frederick Spear, Stephen Slater and Casey Aldrich; his grandchildren, Kadi, Connor and Remi; his stepgrandchildren, Fred and Tonya; his great grandchildren, Oakley, Margaret and Eloise; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Mara, Beau Jr., Haley, Hunter, Cody, Riley and Layla; and his nephews, Earl and Alvin.
