He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard C. Poet and Mary D. Poet (Koch). He is survived by: his children, Michael, Kody Poet and Jessica Poet; and his sisters, Dormata Proctor, Denise Young, Laurie Taylor and Christy Smith. He is also survived by five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
