He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert John and Iva Jane Swartz (Pizor). He is survived by: his daughters, Kelly Huling and Tina Wolfe (Denny "Mike"); his brother David Swartz (Ruth); his son Joseph L. Swartz, Jr.; and his siblings, Donald "Tom", Chuck, William "Bill", Carl, Harold, Dick, Robert Swartz, Lois, Katherine, Peggy, Mary Elizabeth, Betty, Jane and Clara. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
