He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter B. McDowell and Elizabeth McDowell (Chesebro); his wife Melva L. Richardson; his granddaughter Cassandra J. "Cassi" Braham; and his sister Muriel McDowell.
He is survived by: his sons, Walter of Grove City, Thomas (Sandy) of Grove City, Robert of Grove City and Daniel (Sandy McDowell) of Grove City; his grandson Daniel (Catherine McDowell); his grandson-in-law Robert Braham; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Carlson (Ed) and James Richardson (Jeanne) of Grove City.
