It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George James Nelson (Grove City, Pennsylvania), born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 9, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur E. Nelson and Elizabeth J. Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Lyle, Bob and Jan Garrett.
He is survived by: his wife Marian Nelson (Garrett); his grandchildren, Madeline, Garrett Miller, Ben, Gabe and Abbey Nichols; his sister Lynda Shay of Slippery Rock, PA; and his sisters-in-law, Peggy Lutz of Volant and Thelma Garrett of New Castle, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers they ask for you to do two things: Help someone in need in whatever way you can, and to plant sunflower seeds in a garden this summer as a reminder that life is meant to be grand, beautiful and so much bigger than wherever you began.
