He was predeceased by: his parents, Budd Leslie and Ella Covert (Filer); and his siblings, Helen Ruth Linderman, Elenor Hare and Edward Covert.

He is survived by: his wife D. Lucille Shaw; and his grandchildren, Jessica Seivers (Zeke), Joshua Peters, Jennifer Peters, Amber Jesic and Ashley King. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
