It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deforest Short Jr. of Grindstone, Pennsylvania, born in Endicott, New York, who passed away on September 10, 2020, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, DeForest and Doris A. Short, Sr. (Miller); and his siblings, Ronald Short, Harry Harvey and Sandy Moon.
He is survived by: his great grandchild Emma Jo Hart; his wife Mavis K. Short; his daughters, Terry McCarty (Brad), Joelene Vining and Amanda Short; his stepsons, Eric Alps, Dennis Alps (Jennifer) and Brian Alps (Tisha); his grandchildren, Gordon, Megan Vinson, Katie McCarty, Josh Hart, Carlie Vining, Nakita, Bayley Williams, Cari Alps, Xzavyr Alps and Danika Alps; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Brynnley and Beau Williams. He is also survived by four sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
