He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Laverne and Florence Hayes (Holmes); his wife Helen Jeanne Hayes (Hershey); and his brothers, Earl Hayes and Bob Hayes.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark Hayes (Amy) of Mercer, Charles E. Hayes (Shirley) of Kentucky and Matthew Hayes (Mary Kay) of St. Simons Island, GA; his sister Laura Trump (Don) of Allentown, PA; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Hayes of Westfield, NY, Ken Joslin of Florida and Chuck Hershey of Erie. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
