She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph J. Smith and Grace Smith (McBeth); her husband James H. Johnson Sr.; and her brother Ronald J. "Cotton" Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Gretchen Bitner (Jason) of Huntingdon Beach, CA and Kimberly Moore of Long Beach, CA; her stepchildren, Brian Johnson of Jacksonville, NC, Chris Johnson (Amanda) of Atlanta, James Johnson Jr. of Surf City, NC and Melissa John (Thomas) of Zebulon, NC; her sisters, Barbara Kokoska (Donald) of Greensburg, Donna Smith of Crabtree and Karen Murphy (Mike) of Derry Township; her sister-in-law Madalyn Smith of Latrobe; and her close friend Cathie Humphreys (Melvin) of Pittsburgh.
