He was predeceased by: his parents, George Robert and Margaret Thorpe-Stott (Love); and his stepfather Homer Stott. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Thorpe (Walker); his children, James Thorpe Jr., Teresa DeVito (Lou) and Mitchell Thorpe (Joanna Waller); his grandchildren, Isabella DeVito of Greensburg, PA, Trent DeVito of Greensburg, PA, Katarina DeVito of Greensburg, PA and Eli DeVito of Greensburg, PA; and his brothers, Bobby Lewis (George) of Sterling, VA and George Robert Junior Thorpe (Sue Ann). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
