With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gilbert D. Markle Sr. of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though Gilbert may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gilbert touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Markle and Pearl Markle (Sweitzer); his wife Margaret R. Markle (DiCriscio); and his grandson David McCormick. He is survived by: his children, Gilbert D. Markle, Jr. (Connie) of Ligonier, Pam Elenberger of Greensburg, Linda McCormick of Pawleys Island, SC and Dennis J. Markle of New Stanton; and his sisters, Nancy DeLoretta and Rebecca Sue May (Fred). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (501 Fairfield Dr, Greensburg, PA 15601). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
