He was predeceased by: his parents, George B. Smyder and Helen Redilla Smyder; and his siblings, Thomas, Gerald, George Jr. and Evelyn S. Wells.
He is survived by: his wife Regina; his sons, Charles R. Smyder, Jr. (Tammy) and Gregory A. Smyder (Katherine); his granddaughter Elizabeth C. Smyder; his cousin Richard P. Smyder; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas and Antionette Deitzler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
