He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Sr. Gongaware and Grace Gongaware (Stuck); and his wife Carolyn "Sue" Gongaware. He is survived by: his daughter Kristine (Skrabski); his son-in-law Tony Snyder of Huntington Beach; and his grandson Dylan Cole Snyder.
