He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Higgins and Catherine M. Higgins (Plough); and his son Robert W. Higgins. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Higgins; his children, Billy Higgins and Katie Garber (Patrick); his grandchildren, Aidan and Landon; and his brothers, Raymond and John Higgins. He is also survived by 3 great-nephews; 1 great-niece; 1 great-great niece.
