He is survived by: his parent Grace Acker Dunkle (Brumbaugh); his wife Shirley Dunkle (Ross); his sons, Robert W. Dunkle (Saundra) of Greencastle and Craig L. Dunkle (Heidi) of Greencastle; his grandchildren, Brandon, Ross, Justin, Timothy, David, Rachel (Gehman) and Matthew; and his great grandchildren, Ian, Felicity, Wesley Dunkle, Zackery Gehman, Zoey Gehman, Brooklynn Dunkle and Adelaide Titus.
