We bid farewell to Verna E. Phenicie of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 15, 2025 at the age of 93. Verna touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, John W. Dorty and Bessie Gordon Dorty; her husband Roy Phenicie; and her siblings, John, Floyd, Wayne, Raymond Dorty, Sylvia Weller McNew, Bernice Bonebrake, Geraldine Zimmerman and Pauline Berkstresser.
She is survived by: her daughter Cinda R. Fittry (Bruce "Ted") of Greencastle; her grandchildren, Sheena J. Hornbaker (Dane Hoffman) and Keisha L. Hornbaker (Brandon Bradshaw); her great grandchildren, Weston Hoffman, Jackson Hoffman and Drake Bradshaw; and her sisters, Hazel Nelson and Carol Mellott. She is also survived by her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home (45 S Carlisle St, Greencastle, PA 17225). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
