It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Oscar Burke of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, born in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 28, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Reed and Susan Brown Burke of Virginia; his wife Katheryn O. Williams Burke; and his siblings, Louise Westcott, Betty Warner, Dale Burke and Marshall Burke.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rita K. Burke of Downingtown, PA, Wanda J. Thomas (Jeffrey) of Downingtown, PA and Linda R. Smith (Edward) of West Chester, PA; his grandchildren, Rachel B. Vitti (Nikolai), Vincent E. Smith (Jendayi), Aaron J. Thomas (Katie), Janine L. Smith and Miles R. Burke; and his sisters, Gladys Saunders and Bernadine Sullivan. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Bethel AME Church, 235 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225.
