He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin "Pete" and Mary "Bea" Heister (Luther); and his son Philip M. Heister. He is survived by: his wife Lena Heister (Dolt); his daughters, Melissa Cooke and Mareta Kauffman; and his sister Carol Wright. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren.
