Eugene Szumetz Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Szumetz (Greencastle, Pennsylvania), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 25, 2019, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Louis Szumetz and Minerva Laura Szumetz (Riling); his wife Clara Mae Szumetz; and his daughters, Julia Ann Szumetz and Traci Lyn Spickler.
He is survived by: his grandson Marshall Szumetz of Greencastle, PA; his brother Emery Dixon; and his half-brother Lou Szumetz of Monroeville, PA. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Eugene's great-grandson was diagnosed with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva in 2017, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to IFOPA.org.
