He was predeceased by: his parents, Virdus Hauer and Bertha Hauer Yingst (Wenger); his child Greencastle; and his siblings, Helen Bourdeau, Roy Hauer (Iva Cedarborgh), Miles Hauer, Lloyd Hauer, Russell Hauer (Mabel King), Harvey Hauer, Earl Hauer (Clara Rahn), Virdis Hauer (Dorothy Houser) and Paul Hauer.
He is survived by: his wife Joann; and his children, Jeff Hauer (Barbara) of Lakeland, FL, Emerson Hauer, Jr., Christina, Pam Hauer (Ted) of Marlton, NJ, Steven Hauer (Ronnie Tampa), Brian Hauer (Laura) of Mt Laurel, NJ, Shannon Hauer (Justin) of Mercersburg, PA and Timothy Hauer (Jocelyn) of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
