He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Martin and Sara Bell Martin (Etter); his wife Helen Martin (Martin); and his siblings, Rachel Shatzer, Elmer Martin and David Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Eugene L. Martin (Sherry) of Mercersburg, Ronald W. Martin (Dorothy) of Mercersburg, Richard G. Martin (Judy) of Mercersburg and Betty J. Taussig of Florida; his foster daughter Mary A. Odonel (Darwin) of Doylesburg, PA; and his siblings, Donald Martin of Florida and Sara Jane Laughman of Chambersburg. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
