He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Benner, Sr. and Beverly M. Miller; his stepfather Warren E. Miller; his stepbrother Richard E. Miller; and also Shane Benner.

He is survived by: his sisters, Tina M. Hummer of Waynesboro, PA and Lisa A. Langley of Greencastle, PA; his stepsister Melissa S. Miller of Ireland; and his niece Kristie N. Keckler (Shawn A. Briggs) of Chambersburg, PA.
