She was predeceased by: her parent Grover Shaffer; her husband Paul A. Hornbaker; her grandson Nicholas Hornbaker; her stepgrandson Ryan Mills; and her siblings, Charles, Irene, Carl Shaffer and Clare "Toots" Rhodes.

She is survived by: her parent Zelda Hardy Shaffer; and her sons, Larry E. Hornbaker of Greencastle and Terry L. Hornbaker (Mary) of Chambersburg. She is also survived by four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren, and three nieces and nephews.
