He is survived by: his children, Brian Austin (Angie) of Chesapeake, VA, Michael Austin (Jessica) of Chesapeake, VA, Christopher Austin (Kendra) of Elizabeth City, NC, Wendy Smith of Greencastle, PA, Thomas Nye Smith (Pamela) of Elizabeth and Shawn Smith of Chambersburg, PA; and his brother Edward Austin of Ft. Loudon, PA.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
