He was predeceased by: his grandfather H. Jay Hillegas; and his uncle Bruce Gallagher. He is survived by: his parents, J. C. Hillegas and Tracy Hillegas (Supanick); his wife Brooke Hillegas (Miller); his daughters, Sadie and Maggie; his grandmothers, Dolores Hillegas and Barbara Supanick; his sister Brittany Hillegas-Kowalczyk (Dave Kowalczyk); his nieces, Lexi and Alivia; his uncle Mark; his aunt Heather Supanick; his parents-in-law, Bob and Thressa Miller (Kubas); and his brother-in-law Adam Miller (Kim). He is also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the family to be placed in a trust for Josh's daughters.
