He was predeceased by: his parents, Valentine D. Herne and Lucille Davis Herne; his son Daniel; and his siblings, Louann Shackelton, Janice Sweetman and Delbert Herne.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Tucker, Kimberly Herne, Valentine III and William; and his siblings, Lorraine Poltroneri and David Herne. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
