He was predeceased by: his wife Sadie Stoltzfus Shertz; his parents, Chester Lewis and Jennie Francisco Shertz; his son Duane K. Shertz; and his siblings, Harold "Dut" Shertz, Margaret Kurtz, Dorothy Coates Dyer, Richard Shertz and Joan Bensinger.
He is survived by: his daughters, Darlene E. (Thomas Willner) of New Providence and Sharon L. (late Donald A. Plank) of New Holland. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
