It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Galen E. Sweigart of Gordonville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis F. Sweigart and Minnie Sweigart (Englert); his wife Elsie Mae Sweigart (Weller); and his siblings, Curtis Sweigart, Norma Buzzard, Alverta Diem, Fay Gehman, Genevieve Sweigart and Dorothy Binkley.
He is survived by: his children, Galen E., Jr., New Holland, Karen E. (Steve Diener), Bird, Brian K. "Butchie" (Deborah Sweigart), Cheryl A. (Clint Houck) and Darryl E. "Whitey" (Beth Sweigart); his grandchildren, Courtney Carlson, Casey (Jeremy Horning), Corey Houck, Jeremy Houck (Ashley), Joshua Houck, Wyatt Sweigart, Ashley Fowler (Ethan), Kristen Stauffer (Jared) and Lindsey Finkey (Drew); his great grandchildren, Willow, Piper Carlson, Reagan, Brynlee Horning, Paisley Fowler, Owen Lintner and Logan Houck; and his siblings, Myra Harsh, Jean Mowrer and John Sweigart.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Ranck's United Methodist Church (700 Ranck Rd, New Holland, PA 17557). A burial was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Adjoining Church Cemetery.
